Last November's election resulted in a female majority on the nine-member Sacramento City Council, only the second time this has ever occurred (first female majority achieved in 1992). Congratulations to the new female majority: Mai Vang (Mayor Pro Tem), Lisa Kaplan (Dist.1), Katrina Talamantes (Dist. 3) Katie Valenzuela (Dist. 4) and Caity Maple (Dist. 5)!  Look for a renewed commitment from this female majority to social services, housing, education, child care, parks and recreation, historic preservation, the arts and the environment
